At The Union we pride ourselves on having a democratic, fair and effective course representative system. Every year we elect the Course Reps to represent their fellow students. They play a vital role in the University, as they are the link between the lecturers and the students. Course Reps speak on behalf of the students they represent, suggesting improvements the University needs to implement, as well as raising issues of concern for our students. Your Course Reps work consistently, effectively and efficiently to provide the best possible student experience for the students.

Along with the University, your Students’ Union works hard to ensure that once you are elected as a Course Rep, you will receive full training on how to carry out your role. Course Reps receive constant support, training and advice from The Union.

The training includes effective representation skills, dispute and issue resolution, professional behaviour and language in meetings and much more. We also recognise the hard work and effort of our course reps by awarding them with a gold, silver or bronze award at the end of the academic year.

We hope you will enjoy and benefit from your role as a Course Rep, and look forward to seeing you. Please complete the Training Registration Form and we will be in touch with you.
