University Student Governor & Chair of Union Council

Representing and defending the views of Students to the University's highest body, they work alongside the President as a full member of University's Board of Governors. The post holder also serves as the Chair of Union a Council, ensuring the Union remains student focused and democratic, as well as ensuring all of its elected members are accountable for their actions. This is one of the most influential posts in the Union.

Women's Officer

This is a voluntary part-time position taken alongside of your studies. The Women's Officer represents all students who identify as women, which amounts to nearly 60% of students at LSBU. It is a great platform in which to change the lives and student experiences of female students and even staff. This is a voluntary part-time position taken alongside your studies. The Disabled Students’ Officer will be responsible for representing the views of disabled students at London South Bank University to the Students’ Union. The role will have the opportunity to work on both a local and national level, representing the experiences of disabled students on campus and initiating change to positively impact on their student experience.

European Union Students' Officer

This is a voluntary part-time position taken alongside your studies. LSBU’s EU community is around 500 students, all who need to be represented and heard at a Union and University level. Coming from across the 27 other EU member states this group of students are unified through their diversity and pose a fun and interesting demographic to represent well and in a post-Brexit world it will be a group who will have unique challenges to come. International Students' Officer

NUS Delegate

Every year the National Union of Students (NUS) holds is National Conference. This is the main democratic event of NUS and in 2019 will be happening for 3 days in Glasgow. Delegates will go to Glasgow to represent the Students’ Union at the Conference and will vote on key areas of national policy as well as elect the national officers for 2019/2020. This is a great opportunity to experience national student politics and meet active students from across the country.

Student Trustee

This is a voluntary part-time position taken alongside your studies. The Students’ Union’s Board of Trustees has 4 elected positions from the student body. The Board ensure the Students’ Union is acting responsibly and is working for the benefit of students.Trustees will meet a few times a year to look over financial information as well as other key area such as staffing and how the SU is performing against its strategy and KPIs.
