Career staff in Students' Union are the back bone to a Students' Union's delivery, they develop programmes campaigns and activities, that support students to make changes, ensuring Higher Education is a place where everyone can succeed.

Advice Service Manager (Maternity Cover/Secondment Opportunity)

Salary: £28,835 per annum (0.6FTE = £17,301 per annum / 0.72FTE = £20,761per annum | Contract type: Fixed Term - initially for 9 months maternity cover with possibility of extension | Hours: Between 3 and 3.5 days week or 0.6FTE to 0.72FTE | Start Date: January 2018

New ArrivalWe're seeking an individual who is able to deliver both a direct client advice caseload, as well as oversee and manage a small Advice Service and a multi-functionary reception/front of house offer. The post is part-time, either 3 or 3.5 days per week, and either is a fixed term maternity cover, or secondment opportunity initially for 9 months.

This post is key to supporting the delivery of one of our key services - Academic Advice. The post works with students day-in day-out to help them navigate their way through the University's academic affairs systems and also with elected representatives to raise the profile of support that is available to students throughout their academic life cycle.

We're looking for someone who is passionate about supporting students to achieve, challenging the status quo, enhancing our Advice Service, and ensuring that our students get the most out of their higher education experience.

This post oversees upto 2.6FTE staff,  consisting of 1 full time advisor and up to 1.6FTE reception staff.

Senior Events Coordinator

Salary: £23.755 – £26,113 | Contract type: Permanent | Hours: Full time 35hrs/wk

you will lead on LSBSU Events and be expected to be part of an environment where a culture of excellence in customer service is standard. Ideally, you will have experience in identifying, meeting and surpassing expectations of your customers. We have a range of events in terms of size and scale and you will be expected to organise key events throughout the year such as Fresher’s week, Fresher’s Fayre, award ceremonies, balls and other special events.  We also have a weekly events schedule that you will deliver and maintain.

Hours of work will vary depending on operational requirements and periods of peak activity.  Staff are expected to portray a positive image at all times, both internally and externally of the Students’ Union by displaying high standards of service, integrity, punctuality, politeness and professionalism. Attendance at conferences and meetings, both internal and external, will be necessary. The post holder will have to be pro-active, organised, flexible and have the ability to prioritise a varied portfolio of work.

Student Reps & Education Policy Programme Lead

This post is designed to support our Education Policy work, lead on Course Reps, and support the Representation programme in it's delivery, a strategic priority for our Students' Union, and one we're investing in. The post sits at the centre, of our democratic and governance structures; it helps our grassroots activists, campaigners and volunteers, bring about positive change; and it influences higher education policy both locally and nationally.

We're looking for someone to work across a range of projects and programmes: challenging assumptions; enhancing continuously our work, and that of our parent institution, and; empowering our members to get the best individually, and collectively, from their University experience, whether in the classroom or beyond. We also think our work is pretty critical - we are The Widening Participation University, we're hyper diverse in our membership profile and support a lot of students from non-traditional backgrounds, many of whom the first to get a Higher Education in their family.

Head of Marketing and Business Development

Salary: £37,228 to £41,345 | Contract type: Permanent | Hours: Full time 35hrs/wk

As part of our Senior Management Team, you will be responsible for all aspects of marketing and communications and lead the Marketing and Business Development Team. Understanding of the diverse nature of our student members is vital and experience of communicating to a very wide demographic will be essential.

Research & Insight Manager

Salary: £28,149 inc LW (start of grade) + generous benefits package | Contract Type: Permanent | Hours: Full Time

We are investing in a new department focussed on 'research' and 'insight', aiming for it to become a transformational backbone to our work. Could you help us become the 'authoritative experts' on the London South Bank University 'student experience' and the lives of our students? We're looking for an enthusiastic, intellectually inquisitive, self-starter, wanting a rewarding role helping to improve the education and life chances of our members.

This post is designed to manage the day to day delivery of the Students’ Union Research & Insight functions at London South Bank Students’ Union (LSBSU). This role will be responsible for embedding a research and insight-led culture across LSBSU, leading on and managing the collection of quantitative and qualitative data from a wide range of sources and methods; producing analysis and recommendations.
