UPCOMING PROGRAMME

FRESHERS 2008

It came, it went, but it was fun!

Outrageous costumes, UV paint, dancers, togas, school girls and boys, leopards, tigers and commandos, karaoke singing, pub crawling and basically plenty of partying!

2008’s Freshers was one of old favourites and firsts.  We partied, we met new people, did new things and probably rounded it off with a bought of Freshers flu – the year has started!

You came down for the Freshers perennials – the Quiz, the serene Karaoke and the legendary carnage of the Pubcrawl (with a hugely impressive haul of treasure this year!), as well as LSBUSU’s longest running event, Jump! now in it’s third year, taking it’s Freshers form with bed sheets precariously saving everyone’s modesty, kicking off a mammoth live music weekend encompassing no less than 20 bands and covering rock, pop, blues, funk, metal, soul and jazz with a special guest performance from LSBU’s very own Vice Chancellor Deian Hopkin on Jazz piano!

But there was more than that – lots more.  You can be proud for being part of some firsts.  The first Love Music, Hate Racism event in memory and a new partnership with Pride London helping our first LGBT Freshers event be one of the most successful of the fortnight, with support coming from across the spectrums of sexuality, gender, age and race – all entering into the spirit of inclusivity and diversity that makes university in London special.  It really was a fortnight for everyone to be loud, proud and glowing as part of LSBUSU.
